in high school physics
we were taught
that if we lived on Jupiter
we wouldn’t even be able
to get out of bed in the morning
because the force of gravity
is just too strong.
the same force that grounds us on earth
is debilitating and deadly on another planet.
interesting.
i remember telling you that,
thinking it was clever
to use it as a code.
“if you’re ever feeling down,
tell me you’re ‘taking a nap on Jupiter’
and i’ll try to make you feel better :)”
how naive was i
to think that the forces
within our own minds
could be compared to gravity.
they are much more notorious.
